Rheumatology Services and Corona Virus

This is to reassure patients that my office will remain open throughout the Corona Virus pandemic to support patients under my care.

Corona virus aside, the medical problems that patients will normally have on a day to day basis, will not go away. I am concerned that some people may think that they need to stay away altogether – especially in the face of a pandemic that may continue for many months. This should not be necessary.

Video and Phone

I have moved 90% of my consultations with patients to video of phone and very few patients need to attend in person. Where it is necessary to physically attend, I have taken extra precautions to reduce the risk of Corona virus exposure to patients, my staff and myself.

Review Appointments

If you are due a review, or recall appointment, these will be changed to video where possible, or where you are unable for any reason to avail of this, a phone consultation can be done. You don’t need to contact us about this, you will be contacted automatically to change your appointment

Repeat Prescriptions

If you are simply due a repeat prescription to carry you over to your next scheduled appointment, please contact the office, and this can be sent securely to your pharmacy or to you directly.

Workplace assistance

If are on immunosuppressive treatments and need some support in your workplace, a phone consultation can be arranged.

Contacting us

In order to allow some of our staff to work off site, we have also  had to change our phone system which means we have a new phone number – 091 342508.

The best way to get us is by email (suite.19@galwayclinic.com) as the phones are extremely busy at the moment.

I should remind you that email is not a secure way of sending information but I will leave that to your discretion, given the circumstances.
